Dear Me,

💡
Some moments in life may seem small, yet they leave a lasting impact.

Yesterday, I saw a Japanese person talking on the phone, bowing several times while saying gomenasai (I’m sorry). It was such a natural gesture, yet it carried so much sincerity. It made me reflect on how deeply ingrained respect and humility are in Japanese culture—not just as words, but as actions. It also reminded me to always express my words with true meaning, not just say things for the sake of it. Do I always show my sincerity in the way I act?

Today, I had an encounter that left me thinking. A person I once believed would change—especially after moving to a new workplace and a new environment—continues to blame everything and everyone around her. It made me realise that circumstances alone do not change a person; growth is a choice. No matter how many times someone is given a fresh start, if their mindset remains the same, nothing truly changes. It made me reflect: Am I truly growing, or just changing my environment while keeping the same habits?

And then, there’s friendship. I’ve come to understand that forming connections is easy, but maintaining them takes effort, patience, and intention. Time moves forward, and people drift apart—not always because they want to, but because life leads them in different directions. It’s easy to think there will always be more time, but the truth is, we never really know how long we have with the people in our lives. Instead of worrying about the future, I should focus on the present—on the laughter, the conversations, the small but meaningful moments that turn into memories.

So, here’s a reminder to myself: Be present. Be sincere. Keep growing.

With reflection + hope,
Me
